The Breathtaking Transfagarasan Experience

The Transfagarasan Highway is regarded as one of the World's most picturesque roads, which provide a unique driving experience and though we were both passengers on this occasion we were still able to enjoy the spectacular engineering achievement that this roadway exudes. Twisting and turning through the mountains the views around every bend are quite extraordinary and there are plenty of safe areas to pull over and take some great pictures! The roads are only open for 4 months of the year, from July 1st to October 31st as the weather conditions at other times of the year are more than likely very treacherous.
We also spent some time at the lake at the summit of the roads, and went through the mountain tunnel to the other side of the mountain pass. We would highly recommend this excursion, which is a about 3.45 hours drive from Brasov (180kms).
