Poiana Brasov, A Ski Resort with Year Round Appeal

Poiana Brasov is a neighbourhood area of Brasov and is the most popular Ski Resort in Romania, it is located about 1020 metres above sea level. We got the local bus to the resort and although we were there in August (so obviously no snow!) the views from the summit made the venture well worth it. When you get close to the summit, there is a tricky little climb to the flagpole, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and the city of Brasov. There are plenty of small souvenir shops and restaurants to enjoy and given its short bus ride (about 25 minutes from the centre of Brasov), we would highly recommend the experience and the cable car trip up one of the mountains.
