The 'Wonderful Bridges' of Bulgaria

A drive from Plovdiv to a place called 'Wonderful Bridges', which are natural arches in the Rhode Mountains of Bulgaria, really did exceed our expectations. We enjoyed some amazing countryside views through Smolyan and the village of Hvoyna before facing a few some tricky driving challenges along some narrow lanes that took us to this magnificent wonder. We walked all around the top of these arches and then scrambled right down to the bottom to witness the full scale of this natural rock phenomena. We also enjoyed some street food and local beer in a nice, but quite basic, picnic area to recover from our walking endeavours!
