Santorini - The Jewel in the Mediterranean Crown

We spent just 3 days in Santorini and stayed in the picturesque village of Oia and everything we had gleamed about his place before we arrived was true, it is simply a MUST visit when exploring the Greek islands! The narrow paths and many steps can be quite challenging even to the fittest of individuals, so planning a good time to visit Oia is very important, even in early October the place was heaving with tourists and it's a regular stopping point for the many Mediteranean cruise ships, which exacerbates the foot traffic in this tiny village.
Oia offers the most idyllic sunset views and it is definitely worth seeing the place by night as well during the day. The island can be reached by Ferry from Athens but we took the faster option with a flight with Aegean Airways - one word of warning here, the airport at Santorini is very small, crowded and inefficient, which we found very surprising given the island's huge tourist appeal.
